| I like the games where i can see my character. Some shooters that only show the gun is a bit annoying to me. | |

| Action adventure games like Prince of Persia: Sands of Time, Metroid Prime 3, and No More Heroes. I don't care for first-person shooters (save MP3, of course) since they try to be so realistic, and I hate realism in things I use as an escape.
There's the Guitar Hero series as well.

Yay me.
Now I'm going to take a shower and count out my money, see if I've got enough to have a fair bit for my 360 and still rent a game, I need some Splinter Cell or something. D:

| I heavily prefer action RPGs (Legend of Zelda, Prince of Persia, Kingdom Hearts, etc.)
Anything with a fun battlesystem, puzzles and a solid storyline are just perfect for me.

Anything with a fun battlesystem, puzzles and a solid storyline are just perfect for me. I just gotta say, Zelda isn't rpg. It's adventure. In Mega Man X you also upgrade but it isn't rpg because of that. In rpg's you can manipulate your upgrades...and I haven't played it but I think Prince of Persia isn't rpg either...is it? Ontopic: My favorite genre would be 2D platformers.

Ontopic: My favorite genre would be 2D platformers. Hmm not really. Pure adventure games are usually point & click like the Myst series, or those crime solving games and stuff. Adventure games are in fact more like an interactive movie that require some thinking rather than action. There are sub-categories of course. Prince of Persia could actually arguably be seen as a hack & slash game and a platformer. The definitions for the various genres are so broad that it's very hard to pinpoint which genre a certain game is. you can be close with certain things (FPS for example, there's no way you can mix that up with something else). Personally I call everything that has a deep story in which you play an important role an RPG. It is a role playing game after all. In fact according to your definition, a lot of the classic RPGs aren't really RPG. Since you only have limited control over your characters in games like Final Fantasy or Chrono Trigger. All you can do is equip them differently, but that's it. You can tell in which points your characters should get stronger or anything like that.

| [quote]The gameplay consists of a mixture of action, adventure, puzzle solving, role-playing and occasional platforming, stealth and racing elements[/quote
In reference to Zelda | |
