Real Life Gaming Graphics

Is it just me, or wouldn't having real life graphics be scary? Sony and Microsoft both said that their future gaming consoles will eventually have real life graphics. Could you imagine playing like call of duty with real life graphics! Shooting somebody in the head!? Turok cutting somebodies throat! That would be scary. Driving and sports games on the other hand....

Yeah, but a lot of people are into that so i'm sure they would still do it.

My opinion is. Video games are tool to escape reality. Much like books. You are brought into a world of wonder, or fame, horror. Anything is possible. Sure in some games it would add a sense of realism. However I enjoy style. To see how someone see something in their imagination. For example the Wind Waker. Its cartoonish Cel Shading wasn't real. Yet it was style, and anyone who bothered to pick up and play the game found that it was suiting.

Video games are a window to another World. Graphics may be near real life, and then again they may also not be. Its all up to the creator.

I don't want to imagine how it will be because I prefer the less realistic graphical approach.

Team Fortress 2 and the very cartoony style is a modern example that HD graphics don't need to be real life to be appealing.

Agreed. I appreciate style far more than making things look real. To mimic is impressive. To create is Amazing.

I think it would be awesome. Can you imagine being really high( I don't smoke pot so people against it don't get butt hurt) and playing a GTA with real life graphics and on a killing spree with the cops chasing you. Lol. That would be dope!

People'd probably complain 100 times more if it looked more realistic. Remember the uproar caused by Manhunt 2 on the Wii? Just because the motions where the same people freaked out. Yeah its sad... But true...

now you guys are still talking about using a contoler, if anyone ever seen star trek could you imangine if we had a gaming consle like the holodeck

Wonder how it would be shooting someone with a shotgun at point blank range with real life graphics :S I'd rather not think about it :S

Yes, it would.

Aside from that, it won't be as fun either because it would take a huge part of gaming.. imagination.

and i think that would be used as a tool to turn us into killing machines, if we shot some in a game and it reacted as a real person would...we would eventually be able to do it in reality..now THATS scary

Sorta this goes back to our Anime debate XD I like DOA with a touch of Anime Style. I'd be open to try it of course (have you seen the DOA movie though ). I'd think the game would lose a bit of what makes it special. I mean playing DOAXBV999999 would just be like watching soft core porn... Only with certain games though though..

Horror games would be AMAZING with real life graphics.Which brings me back to my statement about the Holodeck with the malfunction.

and yes horror games would be sick! it would cause a few sleepless nights but it would be sooooooo worth it!
