My story - The Gamer and the Princess

Just wanted to share a story with you all, that might help someone who is/has been in the same situation.

Btw, I'm a 17 year old gamer:P

I met this girl trough a friend about one and a half years ago. She went to my school, but was taking another course than me.
I found her extremly cute, but never really dared to do anything. But at the Easter holidays we started to chat on msn, and we kinda became "msn-buddies" if you get what I'm saying. However, whenever I met her at school, I was kind of to shy to do anything at all. I'm usually not shy, but all my friends knew I liked her, so whenever we walked together or something, they threw comments etc and made it all really uncomfortable. Anyways, as I didn't really ask her out or anything, the whole thing just closed itself, and I went on.
However, I never really forgot her, and I still found her atractive in many ways.

Then one day we started chatting again. After sometime I made her download Skype, so we started Skyping(video chatting)
We video chatted daily, and sometimes for hours. But all the time I was afraid I had fallen into the "friend trap", and I thought it was time to take the next step and ask her out. But this was when the problems started.

Whenever I asked her out, she came up with ecxuses why not to go. "I'm invited to a party, I'm going out with a friend, etc."
Once I had to bake a cake for school, and asked her to help me. We did it at her place, but the day before I found out she had asked one of her girlfriends to help. Usually I could take the hint, but thing is she sent me a crap load of mixed signals.
During all this I used to buy her hot chocolate in the school cafeteria during breaks, so this was a way for me to have some alone time with her.

So, one day, I had had enough. I sent her a text message, telling her what I felt. I was wondering wether to do it over sms or face to face, but doing it face to face and failing, would be just to devistating. I sent the text message around midnight, but she didn't answer untill the next day over msn. She was sick, and was therefore not at school. She said that she thought it was best we remained friends, and that she wouldn't like to risk our friendship in case it didn't work.

I was crushed. When I came home I didn't know what to do, so I went out running for some time, before comming home and watching alot of porn( ) Anyways, that obviously didn't help much, so I pretty much walked around being sad that week.
I tried avoiding her as much as I could, and didnt speek with her for four days.


I decided that I wanted to be her friend even though I wanted more. I just liked her to much to let go, so I started a msn conversation four days after she ditched me. The conversation was very basic, like nothing had happened.
But then, suddenly, she wrote how she felt she had done a big mistake, and that she wanted to try to work something out if I was still interested. I litteraly jumped of my chair, and started dancing and screaming. I even opened the window, and yelled out "YEAAAAAHHH!!!!"
I was litterally overwhelmed. This girl ment so much for me, and finally I would get my chance.

The next day we went on a date. First I took her to a cafe were we talked and drank hot chocolate. After that we walked by the water near a dock. I knew it was now or never, if I was going to kiss her. I have to say it was kinda romantic. It was dark, moonlight in the water, and you could hear an opera singer in the backround. Somehow I suddenly got balls, and said " I really want to kiss you" She smiled and said "Go ahead", and I lent forward and kissed her. It was a nice kiss, french kiss if you want the details


After that we started hanging out every day, and now we've been together for almost two and a half months. She's just a great girl, and I care for her more than anything else. I even introduced her to gaming, and whenever she's at my place, we play Gears of War 2 online, for at least two hours... It's sick, I've turned my princess into a gamer


She later told me how she rejected my date-offers because she was scared. She had never been in a relationship before, and was afraid things would get to serious.
I wrote this basically to give the guys on here motivation. Never give up, you never know what waits you. And for God's sake, dare to try. I wanted this girl for nearly a year, and finally, against all odds, I got her....And I tell you, it's an amazing feeling.

Yeah, I know I'm lucky

But why couldn't you do it, LittleSoul? Everyone can, you just need to convince your self into daring.
You won't get anywhere in life without trying, it's hard, but that's the way it is.
I went trough alot before finally getting my girl, but oh was it all worth it!

Im pretty shy myself, the only reason I went out with my (ex) girlfriend, was because i asked on msn, i could never do it face to faceXD

Starting to get better though, realizing that ill be alone my whole life, if i never try:p

Congragulations though:P Not trying to ruin it all, but i felt the same when i met my (ex) girlfriend,i thought she was just amazing, and after 2 and a half years she dumped me, didnt even do it to my face,didnt give me a reason, just kinda stopped :/

I hope your relationship goes alot better then mine

most ppl dont see me to be a geek or a nerd
but i am i guess since im on the football team and
the ppl i hang out with ppl dont rly understand me

i love when im with girls and i totaly suprise them that im
so much different than what they think (but in a good way)

haa i also got my girlfriend to get into gaming
when she was with me. honestly i think its a good bonding moment
its a good time to tease a girl and have fun.

As far as you go, LittleSoul...Well, you are just 14, and I can almost guarantee you that you're gonna regret it big time if you don't ask your girl out. Of course it wil suck if she rejects, but what if she doesn't? It's going to change your life man.
And I'm sure she'll still be talking to you, if she just looks at you as a friend. You just have to dare to try man, if anything, do it over msn.

Well, it's up to you. The sooner the better, as you never know what will happen. Before you know it, some other guy got her before you. But just be self confident about the whole thing, and hopefully it will work out.

ahahaha poo man i envy you, I wish my girlfriend gamed as much as i did my last one did but that didn't work out the only games my girlfriend play is guitar hero and rock band... trying so hard dot get he interested but shes so girly -.-

Thats an amzing story truly man, gave me some inspiration when a girl gives mixed signal maybe it is because there just shy. My problem is that i usually just get considered a friend by the girls, i wanna take somethings a step further but am unsure how...

I used to have the same problem, and things weren't exactly looking good for me with my girlfriend either.
I don't really know what to tell you, except from showing them your intentions as soon as possible.
Intimicy is key. You don't have to hold a girls hand, hug her etc. the first day you meet her. But for example, touch her hair as you tell her you think it's nice. Or tickle her or whatever, you get what I'm saying.
Other than that, dating is nice

As for me I have been with my girl for about a year+1 month without one problem besides me having to move about 500 miles away but we are still going strong....and we are only 15!....but yeah...

when I asked her if she would be my girlfriend we were right next to a coy pond at the mall with the moon light and some light music in the backround and she melted in my arms as she said yes but sadly there was no kiss...lol

but she is awesome and she plays xbox with meh!...lol
